Senator Marcellino Given Low Marks By New Yorkers Against Gun Violence

(Huntington, NY) New Yorkers Against Gun Violence, an advocacy group dedicated to protecting New York residents, particularly youth, from gun-related violence. This group tracked Senators’ votes over the past legislative session and released a list of grades based on how these legislators voted on critical gun safety issues. Senator Carl Marcellino was declared to ‘Need Improvement’ due to his vote to repeal the NYSAFE Act.

Jim Gaughran issued the following statement in response to Senator Marcellino’s low score:
“Gun violence is a scourge on our society and must be addressed so all New Yorkers are able to live in safety and security. Senator Marcellino’s low score is simply further proof that he is out of touch with the values and concerns of Long Island families. More must be done to protect our communities and families from gun violence, and it is clear that Carl Marcellino refuses to accept the seriousness of this crisis. Long Island residents deserve better.”
